Cantine Federiciane Roccia Madre IGT 2017 (Case of 6)
Full-bodied red/ *Oak / New release/ Volcanic Wine
Case of 6 bottles
Grape variety: Primitivo
Description: Intense ruby red in colour. On nose, cherries with notes of undergrowth, wild grass and anise. On the palate, supple, balanced with soft tannins and a vibrant minerality. Aged in large oak barrels (tonneau) for 12 months before bottling. Pairing suggestions: red meat or braised meat dishes, lasagna and mature cheeses.
Note: The vines that produce the grapes for this wine reside on the 3 hectares of the slope of the Roccamonfina volcanic crater, overlooking the Gulf of Gaeta. This vineyard was born from a project started in 2008, the year in which the focus was the preparing of the soil (and the moving of boulders) for the planting of the vines. It was in 2017 (this vintage) that the vineyard (named Vigna Li Paoli) reached maturity for full production with the first crop of “Roccia Madre”.
Label: The label is the work of Silvestri, an artist who is inspired and sometimes bewitched by places and landscapes, created a work reminiscent of the primordial eruptions that created the vineyard terroir.
About the Producer: Cantine Federiciane is the result of four generations of work, dedication and experience accumulated and transmitted over time. A journey that began from the first of these generations and born from a passion for carefully tending to and rediscovering their beautiful terroir and retracing its history through viticulture and winemaking. It is this dream that unites the generations through time and continues the legacy. The winery is now run by the fourth generation of the Palumbo family, three brothers: Antonio, Marco and Luca.
