Cantine Federiciane Campi Flegrei Piedirosso DOC 2019 (Case of 6)
Cantine Federiciane Campi Flegrei Piedirosso DOC 2019 (Case of 6)
Medium bodied red/ Volcanic Wine /*Rare Grape Variety
Case of 6 bottles
Grape variety: Piedirosso
Description: Ruby red coloured, medium bodied red wine with soft tannins, nice acidity and minerality (sometimes described as a salty characteristic thought to come from the volcanic soil the vines are cultivated in). Flavours of plum, cherry and brambly wild berry fruit. A minerally, almost salty characteristic can be found in many Piedirosso wines. This can in part be attributed to the volcanic soils in which the grape thrives. Popular Piedirosso food pairings: polpettone in crosta (meatloaf wrapped in puff pastry), grilled portobello mushrooms with mozzarella and thyme and cheese pizza.
Note: ‘Piedirosso’ means ‘red feet’ in Italian as the stem of the piedirosso grapes is made up of three reddish branches which resemble a dove's foot.
About the Producer: Cantine Federiciane is the result of four generations of work, dedication and experience accumulated and transmitted over time. A journey that began from the first of these generations and born from a passion for carefully tending to and rediscovering their beautiful terroir and retracing its history through viticulture and winemaking. It is this dream that unites the generations through time and continues the legacy. The winery is now run by the fourth generation of the Palumbo family, three brothers: Antonio, Marco and Luca.
